This is one of my favorite roller coasters. X2, is formally known as X is located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. It’s the first 4th dimension roller coaster in the world. 4th dimension because as the train rides along the track, the seats themselves rotate both forward and backward 360 degrees around to give you a whole new kind of different ride experience. Thrilling to say the least.
X was opened in 2002, but in 2007 they closed the ride down in order to convert it into X2, which opened in 2008. This is definitely one of the most popular rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain. At one point the ride was also equipped with speakers that played an audio soundtrack, but at the time of this writing, I believe the speakers may have been removed.
The tallest point of the ride goes up to 190 feet, during which the riders are faced backwards straight into a 215 foot drop at an 88.8 degree incline at a whopping 76 miles per hour maximum speed. All the while your seat is flipping both forward and backward as the train goes into two inversions, a skydive, two raven turns, a back flip, and one twisting front flip. The track is about 3,610 feet long allowing for a ride that is around 48 seconds long.
